Hello everyone! It's been a while since I put anything on the forum, and so I wanted to show the TJ off a bit. He isn't pretty, and he isn't a performance hog; but he works the way I want him to. I have been looking for quite a while for half-doors. I have discovered that half-doors available in Arizona are going to cost you a paycheck...well at least ME a paycheck. But I did find a set of aftermarket CJ doors that were being thrown away. I brought them home and cleaned them up. I also installed new door seals and new latches. They don't fit perfectly(the door-hinges sit about 1/2" too high), but they latch and stay tight.
I also put some body-mounted mirrors on for seeing other drivers. I also found a beat-up roof-rack for $20. It came with four sets of LED lights, but the owner said they didn't work. I hooked each up to the TJ's battery and they lit up just fine! I found a TJ-specific clamp-on mounting system and some nice mount-bases to replace the old light-mounts along with a little panel with 4 light-switches that goes on the lower-left dash by the door. I'll be wiring them up next week, although I also plan to remove the hard-top and pop the soft-top on for a few months.
