So I did some research and this was an interested read:
“It also should be noted that your gap increases as the spark plug is used — the constant arcing wears away at the metal of both electrodes, opening the gap up over time.”
So .032 all the way To .046. Seems like a big swing for plugs that look pretty clean (not sure when they were last changed)
Continuing on doing all the fluid changes. MTL in the transmission, ATF +4 in the transfer case and some conventional 80w90 Valvoline in both differentials. They also both got LubeLocker seals. The differentials got a bit of paint to break up all the black. Did some seat steam
Cleaning too. Nasty.
next purchase is the morryde spare tire carrier and some JKS disconnects. (Unless I splurge for the Currie )
It was waaaaaay to cold to do anything than be in a heated garage this weekend, so decided to remove springs and shocks to prep for the new rancho springs and rs5000x shocks
removal went well, anything I did find that the passenger rear shock
Mount has a “new” bolt set up. So we will see what happens in the reinstall.
got the shocks sanded and threw a coat of black on them. Then went and started to get an idea for my bump stops that I will need (waiting in my springs to deliver)
And finally pulled the spare tire carrier off, and cleaned up the brackets. Need to do some paint work back here before the Morryde goes on. Any suggestions? Thinking of taping it off where the Morryde will cover, light sand and some paint to cover/match. I know it won’t be perfect, but I want to clean up some of the bare metal that’s showing and protect it.
Threw on a 4” lift this week. I like the stance a bit better than what I Had before.
Also added an Morryde tire carrier. A few more tweaks and I’ll leave her along for a bit.
