My '05 fold/tumble rear seat has two springs pushing through the upholstery, pics attached. Anyone else have this issue or go through correcting it? Unzipped the upholstery from the bottom/back but cannot seem to get it up and off the front of the seat to expose this whole area. It feels like these wires run through sewn in channels at the seams seen on top of the seat and cant tell if there is any purpose other than stability.

Ultimately I do not want to put seat covers on the rear seat if this is going to press through and tear a hole in them as well. Anyone see this before?

thanks! :)

Figured out how to get it more uncovered - and seems these are solely for stability and keeping the seat cover in place but not so sure what they are "supposed" to connect to (doest seem like anything) to avoid them pressing through the foam and upholstery. Might try and zip tie them through the bottom of the seat to keep them from protruding, or a blob of epoxy to keep them in place within the foam.

unless anyone else has encountered this and has a better route to take!

The cover is held in place on the rods with hog rings to the frame. Remove the seat back from the bottom. Remove cover from edges. Remove hog rings with needle nose pliers. If done carefully the rings can be reused, if not get some rings and hog ring pliers for reassembly. Reshape the wire, it seems it slide out of place then got bent upward.

While the cover is off, put it in the wash to freshen it up and repair the holes. Do the seat back cover also. Then you will have experience to disassemble the front seats and wash the front seat upholstery the correct way. Easy job, just have patience like a monk.
