Road trip? 😜
The CPS is a duralast part and the part number seems to correspond to the OEM part number. I have a spare so I might as well swap it out. I also have a replacement ignition switch so I can swap that out too but I will check the ignition circuit wiring later this week.
The really weird thing is that this thing used to start until I sent the pcm out for repair. They sent it back to me saying there was nothing wrong with it but it hasn’t run since.

I would make sure you use only Mopar sensors. Too many people have had issues with aftermarket sensors.

I had an aftermarket CPS so I through that on. Still no joy. Also installed a new ignition switch but that did not fix it either. So I am going to go ahead and order the Mopar CPS and see if that works. Will be going back through the wiring diagrams to double check for voltage and continuity. Also check the wiring from the ignition.
Finally got around to putting POR-15 on the seat frame. It’s progress, so I’ll take it.

Good news! I sent the PCM back out to be checked again and this time they said the motherboard had died. They replaced the motherboard and are sending it back to me by Monday. In the meantime, working on preparing for paint and recoloring the dash with colorbond.

Got the PCM. Started right up! Highly recommend the folks at SoloPCM in Miami. Great customer service and quick turnaround. Also found a used softop for $50 on Facebook so threw that on there.

With the electrical issues finally behind me, I need to finish up a few odds and ends like the thermostat, remaining seat frame and reinstalling the dash. Also need to finish installing the rear sway bars.

Week after next will be exhaust and transmission sprag and then go to paint. Hoping to have this done by early December.

Getting some codes at startup now. Going to focus on the fuel injector today and the rear sway bars. Will start by just swapping the fuel injectors around and see if I can narrow it down to a specific injector or a wiring issue.

Worked through some issues on the Jeep with a friend of mine. Rough running and codes turned out to be misrouted vacuum tubes and the brake booster not holding vacuum. Got a new one on order from rockauto. Also still getting a fan relay issue but the wiring and relay checks out so I suspect a bad coolant temp sensor. Got a new one on order for that. Also still chasing down a leak detection pump error. Need to trace down the lines and make sure there are no leaks.

slowly making progress!

Today I focused on sanding and removing bed liner on the paint that the PO sprayed everywhere. Also decided to do the exhaust myself so I ordered a kit from Walker.

Going to install a new coolant sensor and repair the soft top tear so we’ll see how that turns out.

Added the new coolant sensor. Also started the repair on the soft top tear. Had to sew it up (crappy job) and add the sealant. Patch goes on tomorrow Polished out the bad scratches on rear passenger window with novus. Came out better but still got some buffing to do.

Tomorrow is the rear sway links, brake booster and finish the seat frames. Also finish resurfacing the dash so I can remount it on Saturday.

Rear sway links in with bolts from Davey’s Jeeps. Also pulled out the old brake booster. Waiting for the new one to arrive. Replaced the broken tumble cable with some cable from Home Depot. Had to take the cover off to get to the latching mechanism which was a pain in the *ss, but it is working now.

While I’m waiting for the brake booster, I’m going to reassemble the driver’s seat frame and finish colorbonding the dash.

Great progress so far. Thanks for including us in on the project.
Thanks Robert. Going to take a break today and clean up the garage as I am tripping over everything. Ordered an actuator pin for the starting issue and a couple of vent louvers from Davey's Jeeps.

Hopefully get the dash and carpet in tomorrow.

Got a few things done this evening.
  1. Mocked up the carpet
  2. Taped up the dash wiring harness
  3. Removed the old exhaust
  4. Sprayed clear coat protectant on the dash pieces
  5. Went to replace the actuator pin but someone had been in there before and left a spring out which is probably what is causing my starting problems.

Going to see if I can start mounting the dash tomorrow evening. Exhaust looks to be more of a pain than I expected so I might take it to a shop.

A few more items completed this evening. Mocked up the exhaust, a couple more coats of colorbond on the dash and performed a smoke test. Didn’t find and vacuum leaks like I expected, but the intake leaked like a sieve. Not sure if that is ok but it was certainly unexpected.

Tomorrow the dash goes in. Waiting for a new ignition actuator with the proper spring.

Made some progress today. Got the dash installed. Night and day difference between the old and new.

Now I need to install the steering wheel, center console and front seats. Should have that done tomorrow.
