Stereo upgrade

Everyone knows Jeeps don't produce the best sound quality, but I went with all Pioneer, set me back about $500 installed and the best thing I added was this slim 10" subwoofer. Best bang for your buck and everyone is thoroughly impressed with the bass including me! It sits under the rear seat of my TJ. With top down at highway speeds you can still hear the music and bass thumpin'.

Very cool. I have an 8” powered sub. I’d love to hear this 10”!

I'm normally an alpine/pioneer fan boy but Sony came out with this beast that is double the watts of any normal single din unit. I would totally buy one to try it

I put that exact head unit in my TJ, added 4 matching 5.25 speakers that are 2ohms, which really maximizes the onboard head unit amp 4X45 rms. Then put a powered sub enclosure under the sat. It rocks. Check my build thread for details on everything.

So, this was the absolute first time I installed speakers or receiver in any vehicle. The youtube videos and this forum was awesome giving me the confidence to do it. I went with 4x6's in the front dash; upgraded the rear speakers to 6.5", and installed a digital media (no CD) bluetooth stereo.

I got this Sony from Crutchfield for $400, it has apple carplay, android, Bluetooth and back up camera capabilities.

I’m thinking of buying this exact stereo. Just looked at it tonight at Best Buy. How’s it held up? Issues with dust or the elements?

X2 on this Sony (XAV-AX100). Works great! Inexpensive, has CarPlay and a physical volume control (IMO is a necessity for a Jeep unit). No problems so far with topless use in dust and the occasional light rain but not marketed as water resistant/IP so YMMV. No built in GPS in the model I have but Sony has a plug and play antenna available. Not really necessary with CarPlay though. Can use Bluetooth for calls and music but keep in mind you do need to plug in via USB for CarPlay or android auto.
