What do you guys think? I know @mrblaine always pushed the centric premium rotors as a good pairing for the BMB pads.

With centric, stoptech, and Raybestos going under, who else makes a quality rotor these days?

Well crap, there goes my go to rotor brand. Just got a set last week.

Before everyone panics , are all their brands going out of business ? Michelin and BF Goodrich , Fram , Autolite seems like this would be major news .

Pretty sure it’s just centric, Raybestos, and stoptech. Still pretty big news. Feel like they made solid OEM replacement brake parts. Used them on a lot of cars over the years.

It's all their brands, Michelin and BFG are just name branded wipers, not the tire companies.

Ford and Chevrolet were trying to buy some of the filters out, but haven't heard how that's going.

It's First Brands bankruptcy.

It along with Tricolor was a big deal in private credit. That market is around the same size now as a percentage of GDP as housing was at the start of the GFC.

I don't know why they're closing down those lines while keeping others running while trying to sell them.

Wow, crazy times. Greed will eventually destroy this country it seems.

It’s usually true. Good well run companies get bought by a PE firm looking to make huge profit. When they don’t have the founder that cares about the product anymore things go south.

Regardless, I just bought some centric rotors. Needed them anyways soon.

The odd thing in this case was that Patrick James founded and owned First Brands. It wasn't a PE acquisition or conglomeration. Instead, he used the Private Credit rather than traditional business banking markets to fund operations and expansion.

That is basically all the brands I grew up with when I started working on cars in the 80s.....
I suppose next you are going to tell me that Callaghan Auto Parts is going out of business too.

Never heard of them. Did you need to collect S&H green stamps to purchase from them? 🤔
