Supporting the tub while doing body work

Have a question for the experts ! Short of acquiring a good tub, lets say for a second that I remove the tub from the frame to work on tub would you be inclined to support the door gap with a welded on bar to support the body while off the frame or where would you weld supports temporally while you complete repairs? I need to do floor supports and floors.

The frame it sits on is toast. I have a new one to transfer body to along with axles and suspension.

Honestly I need to find a good tub at a reasonable price around Houston. But have a new welder to play with so.

Like that video will watch again for sure guess the roll bars provide a lot of support the way you guys manhandled the tub LOL

Yeah tub is completely solid sans frame. Now that would change a lot of you cut out floors and torque boxes. But given how many tubs are out there...I'd find a clean one and save the welding for a rear shock outboard.

I didn't have an issue with needing to weld a brace across the door but I did have issues on the width across. It would probably be a really good idea to somehow secure that, maybe weld some braces across the top from door edge to door edge and on bottom from rocker to rocker if you can - especially on the bottom.

After I finished and I put the doors back on, I realized the bottom edge of the rocker was sucked in on both sides. A vertical straight edge made it obvious.

Also, a brace across the door like you said couldn't hurt!
