2005 LJ automatic
Lifted 3 inches
Ordered a rough country sye from summit racing,
Unboxed it , the yoke is so loose on the shaft , I even have quite some axial play ,intolerable
Measured shaft splines external and inner yoke max ID ,tolerance is .020 ,way o/max ( I’m machinist by trade )
Phoned summit ,agent contacted rough country that say it’s within specs ,,,,,no way !
My friend has an advance adapter sye , claims is yoke is tight on shaft ( like it should be)

Anyone used the rough country sye without having my issue ?

Rough Country is a no-go for everyone here.

This won't go away. You'll either accept the product, with the limitations or problems you experience....or you won't. I don't see RC or Summit has the ability to change it.

Your direct question "does anyone use the RC SYE without these issues" sounds like it is to see if you exchange, is it possible that the next one will be better. Looking logistically, with your ability to accept tolerances from sub par components, you're not going to get what you want. That's just my observation, and I don't disagree, the RC Jeep components I've seen this type of quality tolerance brought up all over.

I'd look at a different product, that's just my suggestion. I got a JB Conversions Super Short SYE, but I believe they have a normal. There are others, just jumping ahead in my mind, because there's no way to get the tight tolerance quality, when the product set just doesn't provide that.

I have and have had some RC stuff on my Jeep. There are things they're good at, but they're not where I look for precision machining.

Currently have fender flares and a light bar. Had sway bar disconnects before I got my swayloc, those were fine. Also still have two of their control arms but have changed all 4 joints so not sure they even count anymore.

For the record I have the same opinion of teraflex... The only thing of theirs on my Jeep is the $15 worth of bicycle shifter parts they sell as a $40 hand throttle.
