Tail Light Electrical Question

One of the things that I feel like I really not good at is electrical stuff. I went to install new Savy LED tail lights today and found these diodes tucked up behind tub and way more wires than I expected. I just put stuff back together as it was for now. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'm guessing your jeep was towed behind an RV. That diode allows the RV to use the Jeeps tail lights for braking, turn signals etc while preventing power from going "backwards" thru the TJs electrical system.

Is there a harness at the front of the Jeep that would connect to an RVs tow lights.

If you are not going to tow it behind something, you can remove the diode. Crimp or resolder and heat shrink the joint. Just make sure you connect the Jeeps input to the output and not the tow harnesses input.

No problem. If you're not planning on towing it, you may want to spend some time getting all the excess wire removed. Based on the pictures, it looks somewhat sloppy. No telling how they ran the wires to the front. Wouldn't want them to get snagged on something and wreak havoc on a more critical set of wires (i.e. fuel pump etc..
