Temperature Normal?

Silly question, but my TJ went into the red twice while in the soft sand one afternoon. The overflow bottle was at the low mark when hot and remained at the low mark even when cool. The radiator was replaced the week before by the dealer along with hoses. Since then I have not been able to get it to go into the red ever since. What type of radiator fluid should I be using in my 06 TJ Unlimited.

Any brand of 50/50 mixture of ethylene glycol antifreeze.

I went through a cooling system refresh a couple weeks ago, minus the water pump since mine was fairly new. I used the factory style constant tension hose clamps, and these pliers were a huge help, although pricey.

This page has some good info about the constant tension hose clamps for a TJ if you need new ones:

Based on some posts by @Jerry Bransford either on this board or another, I used the Stant Superstat which doesn't have a hole. I also used this Gates thermostat gasket which has adhesive on one side to help hold everything in place during reassembly. I did not use any gasket sealer and don't have any leaks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C2SD5U/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I'd suggest adding Zerex G-05 coolant slowly to minimize air pockets.

So far so good for me after the refresh. Unfortunately I know my heater core needs to be replaced because I get a whiff of coolant in the cabin, but that's a job for another time. Temp holds steady at 210.

I just changed the thermostat, water pump and clutch fan.l last weekend. Mine runs at or a little below 210°. Which is where it was at before changing everything. The reason for changing everything was on my way home it ran hot. It’s really not that expensive or hard to do for piece of mind.

Did you use all Mopar Parts? If not, what brands did you use and how are they working for you today?
