Hi

I should do the service to my automatic jeep tj 4.0 2000 with 80000 km I would like to replace the gearbox oil, the filter, the gasket and also the liquids for the differentials. Do you know the quantity for each part? Could you advise me what else to change besides the classic change of the air and engine oil filter? Thank you all

Within the transmission, you're going to want ATF+4 only. If you just dump the pan you won't lose that much fluid. There is a method to do a full flush described in our how-to section; full capacity is something like 12 quarts. Any brand is ok there. You'll want to remove the pan and inspect it, making sure there is no chunks of anything etc. With the pan off, you should change the filter. I normally use Wix I think, never had any problems. Usually the filter will come with a rubber gasket, although I have Lube Lockers which I find to seal up better, but opinions vary.

The transfer case can also be drained & re-filled with ATF+4. Make certain you can get the fill plug out before you open the drain plug. There isn't much other maintenance to do on the transfer case.

For the differentials, do you have any sort of locker or limited slip unit in there?
