...But I see some rust on the frame. Most appears to be on surface but one joint seems more severe than others. It drives well otherwise and had Dana 44 and 3.73 gear ratio. Has 91k miles and asking for 8k. Is this a good buy?

Thanks,

Roger

The frame will be the most important thing to check out very well. It looks similar to mine when I bought it. Which I am now repairing. I would stick your fingers inside the holes and see if the inside of the frame is rusting. TJs are prone to rusting from the inside out. If you see any holes in the frame from rust that is a big problem. You could also take a hammer and go up and down the frame and listen to how it sounds. You will hear it sound different if it is rotting from the inside out. Both of the differentials are leaking and the drag link end and track bar end are looking kind of rough so they might need to be replaced with other steering components. With those and the leaks makes me wonder if they cared about maintaining it. Anyways, I'd check out the frame very well again. If there's any more rust on it snap some more pics and upload and others will chime in. I'd think the price should be lower for this one tho. Hope this helps.

NOT WORTH 8K! Maybe half that...and know that most peeps here will tell you just just don't do it.
That frame rust is BAD. You'll be putting a ton of work into that and plus having the risk of the frame itself breaking. Those trailing arms do not look good, and the center skid plate section is really bad.

This is coming from someone who has had to do a frame repair. Not trying to discourage you, but just not worth 8k at all. If your really into it get that price down.

Thank you... It really helps me out as a beginner to know what is good and what is not.

I'm so thankful that serious rust is almost unheard of in the south .

And we can marry whoever we want , ain't that right sis?

My frame looked even better than that, but when I had service done, they dropped the support pan and could not put it back due to the rusted out bolt inserts. Installation of safeT cap cost $1600.
