I try to keep mine above 50 miles to empty. Still filling for around $100.

Half tank has always been my personal minimum, of course there are exceptions. When diesel was $6/gal I wouldn’t let it get below 3/4 full. With airplanes, I run at the top of the tank, again, with exceptions but filling up huge amounts doesn’t make sense when you only use a fraction of the capacity most of the time. In the end, it’s just a mental game.
