TJ odometer and speedometer not working after installing new speedometer gear

Hey guys, so I tried installing a new speedometer gear in my 99 Jeep tj 4.0 automatic. I replaced the gear as I believe it was correct. I did that last night. And after installation i didn’t even check if it was working.
This morning i drove it to a shop to get a small subwoofer installed. But then again i never checked my speed so couldn’t tell if it was working
I then picked it up from the shop and drove home and then I get the check engine light. That’s when I noticed the speedo was off and so is the odometer
It’s not recording the miles
So I’m not sure If i did something wrong when i installed the gear or maybe when they wired the sub
(I already installed a new speed sensor)

Did you rotate the speed sensor so the correct number range is facing down? Also make sure the bracket is seated in the notches properly.

Sometimes you need to twist the speed sensor a little as you're installing to get the gears to mesh.

Just out of curiosity, what is the code it's throwing for the check engine light?

YEAH I figured it out. The first YouTube video I saw was wrong.
It was the positron of the speed sensor
The first video said the number on the sensor the corresponded to the number of teeth on the gear had to be aligned with the bolt which was sooo wrong haha

I'm new to Jeeps and no mechanic at all but I got a 1999 Jeep that had been sitting for 5 years in a field before that I knew the original owner as well. The dashlights, speedometer, and odometer doesn't currently work. The title when the second owner bought it states it had 89754 miles on it and I know for 100% fact the Ole man didn't drive that Jeep 5 thousand miles if that. My question is when I have all those things repaired by a certified mechanic will the original miles show back up even if I purchase a brand new investment panel and dashboard just curious thank you
