TJ turns over but does not start

All euro software calibrations have the immobilizer software embedded in them. Even if turned off, it turns itself back on. The only way around this that I have found that works is to program ecm with USA software and then disable skim function.

Thanks for your quick help on my UK Jeep ECU/Immobilser problem. Can I send it to you for programming. I have tried twice so far with All Computer Resources, but it hasn’t worked.


If so pleased give me address and approx. cost for fix, and confirm what I need to send.

Thanks Mark for reprogramming this unit. However I still have the same problem - turning over but not starting. There is good fuel pressure. I made sure the key shroud was disconnected before installing. Do I need to leave the ECU in for a while before starting in case the software needs to load?

Are there any other tests/diagnosis type things I can do to confirm I am on the right track about it being immobiliser related?
 
A lot more "other stuff" involved. All euro software after 1998 has the skim embedded. Even when you disable it, it will reenable. It was a tough fight, but we finally got it taken care of.

Interesting that Euro models have completely different programming...but I suppose different counties, different emissions rules, different markets for accessories and rules for using locally sourced components to meet import rules.

That LED is in the same sort of position as the M&S immobiliser on my 97. However, I believe the M&S unit was only installed until SKIS came in. Since SKIS was Thatcham approved the M&S wasn't required.

For future reference it might be worth checking out https://birtydastards.com/frm/index.php?action=forum or their facebook page. Somebody may know what the LED is or where their would be any jeep specialists near you.
