Today my 6 speed started to vibrate through the stick in neutral, goes away when clutch pushed in sounds like a small hole in a muffler from outside? not a thrust bearing noise, clutch is nice and tight, gear change smooth. may or may not be a common TJ gearbox clutch issue. any advise?
probably me constantly double clutching the synchro lol :)

I cant believe I have never had a Wrangler before! more Fun and Games than my 1971 Triumph Bonneville re daily issues lol

The NSG370 is well known to rattle in idle and neutral. It is perfectly normal for the transmission, unless it becomes excessive or starts squealing. I’ve heard it described as a box of marbles. To me it sounds like a low grumble.

X2. I believe the NV3550 is known to do this as well also.

Both of mine do it.

How many miles are on the transmission ?
What type of gear lube are you using ?
IF the problem progressively gets worse; you should consider removing the transmission to at least do an inspection of the clutch, pressure plate, TOB and pilot bushing.

Just to be clear...

This is vibrating while rolling in neutral or sitting at idle only??

Mine does this when I’m stopped at traffic lights in neutral. My driver side mirror vibrates but maybe it’s always done that. Goes away when I drive off. Maybe I just noticed it since changed transmission mount (rubber) and motor mount lift and tummy tuck🤷🏽‍♂️ I have the NV 3550 FWIW

Sitting at idol neutral only, in gear driving or even just clutch depressed in neutral its stops.

I only just noticed it. Was a fairly hot day today.

Is a pilot bushing a Thrust bearing or a bushing in the flywheel? Only had it a few weeks and its stock so I suppose it has the same miles as the odometer? 110,000 or 180,000KMs
