So I tried to start my 97 TJ 4cyl 5 spd and this is what happened. First start it just clicked liked a dead battery. Second try it clicked and then all went dead, no dash lights, dead gauges, no head lights, nothing it’s like it has no battery connected at all. Battery tested good on load test. Checked all fuses that I know of. Starter has been dragging prior to that’s why I thought a blown fuse. Maybe a bad relay? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

How about the battery terminals, what do they look like?

You could swap the ASD relay with one of the less essential ones as a test.

Thanks to all for the replies. Well I looked at the terminals and they looked clean, surprised when I took them off they were quiet loose. I cleaned the cable ends and post’s with baking soda solution, wire brushed, cleaned up and magically it worked. I have to say I have seen much worse and still crank. Very weird, hopefully that’s all it was.
Thanks again to all.
