No wheel speed sensors on 06 Rubicon.
The vehicle speed sensor is on the tcase and last I heard, was not available. However, hard to believe the VSS would cause it to die.

Well unfortunately I got bad news. After my car sitting for 3 weeks at dealer (it has been a giant mess), they finally replaced the vehicle speed sensor and it still does not work. They are no longer getting the 9V reading from sensor and are getting the 5V reading it normally gives but still wont turn over. Anybody have any other ideas? Or recommend any places in Huntsville area? I will be reaching out to Cole's Auto Repair as advised but seeing as they are not open on weekends, I would ideally like to find a reputable place that can get the job done as soon as possible.
There is also a mobile Jeep mechanic here in the HSV area... I forget his name, but is always recommended on the RCW FB group.
Check your gear selection cable. Mine broke while in Drive. Got home, but wouldn’t start because it was in drive no matter how it appears on the cabin gear selector.
Sorry if I forgot to specify but mine is a manual. Thought it might have been clutch safety switch but tried to bypass and didnt work.
Havent tried. Just moved out here by myself and pretty flat lot at my apartment. Will see if I can find someone to help when I get car back Monday. Ima take it back after work and try to get it to Coles Auto this week.
Thinking about ordering Crankshaft and Camshaft position sensors. If I overnight them then they will get here Wednesday. I can pick up car tomorrow and work on it Monday/Tuesday afternoon to see if I can figure it out before sensors get in. If that doesn't work I can take it to shop on Thursday. That sound reasonable or unlikely that crank/cam sensors could be causing problem?
Every cam or crank sensor issue I've had resulted in a crank but no start. I can't guarantee there's no cps or ckps failure mode that wouldn't cause that, though.
I suggest getting into the wiring diagram for the ignition circuit and working your way through with a meter to see where things stop working. Have you personally checked that the asd relay is or isn't changing state when it should be? Looking at the diagram, the asd relay isn't even present in the starter circuit. It goes through the ignition switch and a couple of different fuses, the the pcm provides the ground if it sees the clutch safety switch is in the correct state. The asd relay powers the fuel and ignition systems.
It's scary to think what JK and JL owners are in for when their rigs are 20 years old and they go to a dealership that can't even troubleshoot a comparatively stone-age TJ.

Goin to pick up Jeep at 4:30 today. Will look over wiring a little bit but taking it to a shop. I am sure if I had enough time I can figure it out but on a bit of a time crunch thanks to it sitting around for 3 weeks with dealer not doing anything. Plus all the Ubers to get around are taking a toll so would like it running as soon as possible. And yes you are right about VSS. Took a look at electrical system schematics. If VSS was bad it would still crank even if it never cranked over. But since it wont even try to crank the problem has to be somewhere else. Think it has to be a bad ground or shorted wire somewhere. Not much left in starter circuit I haven't already replaced.
Well had to pay $1100 to get my car back since their system "closes" at end of every month. Tried to argue it but all I heard back was there was nothing they could do. As a result, money is a little tight and might not be able to take it to another shop in order to get problem fixed. Gonna get it towed back to apartment and try to keep diagnosing. Would appreciate if anyone had any additional insight as to potential problems. Gonna try testing wires under PDC as well as wires feeding into harness for ignition switch.
I would be contacting the BBB. That's a bunch of BS, there's absolutely something they could do about it, like not charge you for not fixing your vehicle.
Crap like this is why I can't trust ANYBODY to do anything anymore.

Getting Jeep towed from dealer to Cole's tomorrow. Will deal with the dealer money after. Its on card so I have a little hope. Also, that 1100 is all labor as I had to supply the part for them that they incorrectly diagnosed after they said it would take 2 weeks to ship.
I understand your frustration. They should have worked with you on the bull. But the mechanic can’t work for free, diagnosing grimlins can be daunting and time consuming.
Well I got truck towed today. Went to pick it up and hood had dents and scrapes from them swinging it up against windshield. Looks like they are gonna work with me on that. Tow truck guy thought it was alternator/battery since we could jump it but it would not start on its own. Swapped em and it would start and run but would die on and off on the road. Got it towed to Cole's and hoping to get some good news there. Will keep yall updated on what diagnosis ends up being.
Official diagnosis was bad PCM. It had intermittent failure. Cole was able to diagnose it pretty quick and ran additional tests to confirm it. Hoping to get it back later today. He was more thorough, knowledgeful, faster, and cheaper than dealer. For anyone else in Rocket City I highly recommend him. Good guy.
