Does the TCM for the 42RLE use the "torque management request sense" circuit?

The FSM says it's pin 10 of the 60P TCM connector. Diagnostic procedures for it in the FSM indicate it's pulled high by the PCM to more than 7V (I'm assuming it's pulled up to battery voltage), and when the transmission wants "reduced power" for a smooth shift the TCM will "send a signal" (by pulling it low??) which the PCM acknowledges over the PCI bus (pin 43 of the 60P connector).

But does our TCM actually do that? I can tell there is a lot of copy-pasting that went into the FSM carried over from previous years and other vehicle models, not to mention a number of errors. So it's tough to tell just by reading the FSM.

If our TCM is actually using this circuit, exactly how would the PCM reduce engine power? It's not like the PCM can operate the throttle body (it's not drive by wire). Would it lean out the injectors or something?
