Towing help?

I have a 2010 Ford F150 Crew cab. Factory tow package. Only thing I have pulled with it is a 3800 lb camper. You can hardly tell the camper is behind it.

Do you think it is enough to trailer a Jeep? It will be close to a 2700 mile trip. I figured it would save me the gas and keep that many miles off the rig and tires.

its hard to say mate, if you have the option the best thing to do is load it all up prior and take it and put it on a local weigh bridge so you know exactly how much it weighs and then you can make an informed decision vs your tow rig whether or not to tow.

getting going isnt a problem with a "maybe" heavy load, its stopping. so make sure you check your brakes or get new ones before your trip - but more than likely it wont be a problem with F150. ive car trailer'd decent size 4Bs behind a holden V8 SS ute at high speeds with no problems.

I think you'd be just fine towing the Jeep. Are you worried about the weight of the Jeep or the towing power of the truck?

I think the truck will be fine. I have the option of using dolly or a trailer. Im not sure you get a spare tire for the trailer when you rent one. Im just trying to figure how everything is going

You can tow that no problem. I grew up in the towing industry and ive used my 05 Silverado almost the exact same distance. I personally would not use a dolly to go that far. I would put it up on a trailer. If you use a dolly, disconnect the driveline from the rear axle
