Transfer case linkage

Hello, so I am having this issue where the t-case shifter lever feels free or undone, and doesn't go into any of the ranges. It's in 2WD right now. And I crawl under and see this. Is the part of the link supposed to be in something? It definitely isn't supposed to be like that. Just need it to work for now. So, yes. I know the stock linkage is a piece of crap. Just need it fixed for right now...thanks! Your help is greatly appreciated

Yes, I think it’s lost the plastic under that holds it in its housing .

Go cable when you can.

You can manually rotate the lever on the case if needed, just don’t hit neutral and run yourself over like I did disconnecting my rear drive shaft once.

I had parts I would have given you and I’m sure some guys on here may also....hang in here , lots of good folks willing to help , and lots of knowledge .
