Pretty sure my oil pick up tube fell out of it's hole. I investigated a strange noise in the transfer case and found that it was empty and there is a round tube laying in the drain hole opening. I can move it around with my finger, but can't fish it out. Is this something I can fix or attempt to fix with t-case installed?

with the t-case installed yes, but you'll at least have to remove the output housing so you can remove the tube, reinstall it in the bottom of the pump, and reinstall the pump.

but it's so simple to remove the case and do it on the bench, why would you want to do it while it was still installed?
