Transfer case vent hose

While replacing a throw out bearing that literally disintegrated in the bell housing, I noticed that my transfer case vent hose is non-existent. Can someone let me know the vent hose routing and termination point, please? I see it in the FSM but its routing is unclear. Obviously I realize it connects to the transfer case but where does the other end terminate? Seems like I should put a hose on it since it could allow water and dirt into the xfer case. Thank you!

I routed mine up into the engine bay near the firewall.

Thanks. Is there anything on the end of the hose such as a filter or strainer? Or just leave it open ended?

I don't know this for sure, but I would hope it would have the same vent cap as the diff hose breather line.

Yes that's what is on top of all the vent hoses including the tcase's.

I put little filters on mine to keep the dust out. I don't know if much gets in at all, but it's more piece of mind. The phone photos aren't the best, but you get the idea.
