Transmission advice

Been thinking about what to do with my transmission on my 97 TJ project,it currently has an AX15 with 190k on it. Stock4.0L for now but I plan on swapping in a 5.3L vortec truck motor from an older Silverado or Chevy van. Would a rebuilt AX-15 hold up? If not what transmission should I be looking into, would like to keep it a 5spd if possible.

Thanks for the reply, I found a few company’s who have parts to rebuild them to an upgraded AX-15. I don’t plan on doing anything crazy to the v8 swap, just a mild came to give it some low end power most likely.
