I'm not even sure where to start here, so I'll just jump to it:

I'm rebuilding my NSG370 off my 2006. While pressing the input shaft out of the bearing the shaft, well, didn't press out. Instead, the heads of all 4 of the retainer bolts that hold the bearing in place sheared off and the bearing came out with the shaft.

I got the screws out, and they appear to be nothing more than an M6 1.0 black screw with a torx head and thread lock on them.

BUT, OEM replacements are $20. Each.

So for you experts out there, is there any reason not to use a regular black screw (with the proper head taper) or stainless screw in the aluminum case? I can't see any reason why not since it will never be exposed to water to rust.

Thanks!

Doug
