Bought a car from used dealership- got battery checked at auto zone, battery was 15V and they said they believe regulator is the reason . Took it back to dealer, they said alternator was faulty and replaced it (at a discount after exchanged words).

Come literally 1 day later, I notice my transmissions starting to drop and skip when accelerating. As I go into 3rd gear or so, the car jolts for a second before resuming accelerating.

Can the new alternator been installed in some way that it would have an effect on the transmission causing this or is my luck that bad that this used car thats been in my possession for a month already has a bad tranny?

The voltage regulator is controlled by the ECM and just changing out the alternator may have not cured the problem. I would check the voltage at the battery... IF the voltage coming from the alternator is too high a lot the vehicles electronics will act funny including the transmission control module.
