Trail gear has axle housing that start fairly cheap. If I was to do a swap I would lean towards trail gear’s rock assault 9’s. Pick whichever ends and C’s you want.
Trying to find info on the offset of the SD Dana 60. so far all I can find info on is on the 88 version, KP version if I'm not mistaken. Info says it's about 3.5" more to the driver side from center.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't, just asking if it works as is or do you plan on doing like most, stripping it, emptying it out, and the either buying 8 lug or converting the unit bearings to 5 lug.
With most of that stuff, you are using an empty housing when it is all said and done.

new gear set, locker and axle shafts. 8x lug is fine by me.
but you are pretty dead on about most of it not being reused.
the revelation of the offset is a big 1. lopping the needed amount from the passenger side forces sourcing a new shorter inner shaft and the WMS to WMS produced doesn't match well with any available production model 1 ton rear axles.
if i might jump in with a connective question i been thinkin about.
with the weight of a TJ vs what those brakes were meant to be able to control. would the sys be just as effective if it were sized down to more the line of what a 3/4 ton axle might use? would this change the answer above?

If you saw the video I put up of the rig on 40's doing a very nice job of stopping the rig. That is 17" big brake kit which uses the front calipers and rotors from a Ram 1500. Although that one has hydro-boost, the others use the stock TJ booster and a slightly larger master with similar effectiveness. That has proven to be plenty of brake for 40's on a TJ.

perfect. if i'm not mistaken you already fed me info on that MC and it's installed already as the brake kit i run on the JK axle is similar to a 1500 assembly.

That is reasonably accurate. Be aware that just because it looks like the Ram 1500 stuff, not all have the ability to make them work at the same level of performance.
