Tub paint is wet

So the previous owner re-did the tub, and whatever paint he used is just not drying in about 50% of the jeep. It seems to be oil based for what thats worth. But just some parts are absolutely wet to the touch.

Any ideas on how I can fix this issue, or force dry it or whatever I need to do tbh

Makes me think of a rust preventative like Fluid Film, which always stays 'wet'.

Do the areas that are staying wet have a distinctive smell?

Probably poorly mixed paint...paint has two parts... it's probably missing the catalyst that would allow it to dry and harden. I used some 2 part epoxy and didn't mix it thoroughly enough and ended up with it staying wet.

I'd run to the local paint store and get some universal reducer and dab a little bit in a spot you can live with and see if it helps.

If i had to guess, with how fresh it looks, somewhere around 2 months ago. I dont have contact with the previous owner anymore. I suppose i can try

Well, it should have dried to touch within an hour and cured within 24 hours to 7 days. Somethings not right. Maybe what maclean mentioned, but I really don't know. I've painted lots of stuff, but never had that issue. It could also be fluid film? Someone asked if it has a distinctive smell. I'd definitely smell it. Fluid film doesn't smell like paint and it doesn't smell good either.

Me too, but I don't know that the universal reducer that was recommended will help that?

It will help since it tends to remove rubberized undercoating very well. He may pass out from the fumes before it gets it all washed out of there with a couple of gallons that it will need, but it will come out.

Wet to the touch? I would use a big plastic gasket scraper and scrape it all off.
