Every “quick job” turns into an excruciating multi-day ordeal it seems

Ya but get an adhesive that is paintable, not silicone.

Why paintable? Adhesives don't rust.

This is what I got, I was also considering using sheet metal screws on the overlap as well.

Unfortunately it’s 13° right now so I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to apply it, according to the application temperature

Holes are patched! Thank you everyone for your help

Now just have to wait 24 hours for the adhesive to dry. Then I’ll be painting it all and waiting another 24 hours to do the sound deadening

Yep. There’s other areas I can see rust too but can’t really get to it easily, I’ll just pray it doesn’t go through too fast and the fluid film works

Sadly I think rust in other areas will be an issue before that area becomes a problem again

I am, although no longer my daily. To be honest I haven’t checked out that spot in a while, I also put sound deadener over it so it’s hard to see it. I’ll update if I get to check under there at some point
