Looking for the OEM, 2 pin female connector that plugs into the factory underhood lamp. Anybody know what size connector that is, have a part #, or maybe even have an old one laying around?

I'm replacing my hood light with an aftermarket LED one, but the new light doesnt have a pigtail, it only allows for the OEM style plug, which was cut off my jeep at some point.

Just tap into the factory light housing where the bulb goes. That’s what I did when I added a KC Cyclone as a good light.

The lens is now painted black so it looks better.

I could pull apart the new light to solder my wires in there, but then I'd also have to punch a hole in the light to run my wires in there. Finding a cheap connecter just seems cleaner.

No need to punch a hole. I didn’t. There’s a small hole in the corner from the factory. I ran the wires through there. I wanted to use the factory light housing that way it retained the gravity switch.

Like I said. With the lens painted black it looks much cleaner.

I'm not using the factory light. Mine is an aftermarket light that accepts the factory connector. The way the new light is constructed is much different. I hack it apart and make it work in a few minutes, but again, an OEM connector would be the cleaner/nicer solution.

Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been meaning to add a second light and this thread convinced me to get off my ass and do it.

I'd look up the p/n in the Mopar parts catalog but you haven't said what year TJ you have and your Profile is still devoid of any information on your Jeep.

My apologies, I had full intentions on getting that connector p/n for you but glad you found it. An issue with my youngest offspring that happened about then has distracted me lately.
