Got some new Bestop assembled half door uppers. What am I supposed to do with this extra weatherstripping? Is it supposed to be trimmed?

Yes, you will need to trim it. I generally trim it a little long so that it tucks between where the upper and the half door meet.

Should I tweak the frame to get a more consistent gap on the a-pillar?

Better, but there is some room for the top of the window to move toward the rear for sure. If I get the a-pillar gap better the door will close easier

I agree. If you’re not planning to already, take the skin off the frame and use your foot in the front bottom corner while you pull on the upper back. Give it a few good tugs then put it on the half door and close it to check the gaps. Repeat as necessary.

Once you’re happy with it, put the upper skin back on and give it a final check.

Gotcha, sounds like a plan. These are the new Bestops that are sewn to the frame so I'll figure out a way to do it and go easy on the material.
