Has anyone had any luck with rewinding the brake on a Warn winch?
I have an XD9000i that I rebuilt and did not know about the brake being wound when I removed it. After researching I have discovered that it has a spring that must be wound just the right amount. The brake pads are in good shape and all the parts are good.
I went by a procedure I found on a 4x4 site but it is still not working.
Any ideas?

Contact Warn's awesome Customer Service Dept. at 800-543-9276 and tell them the brake is somehow toast. I'm betting they'll ship you one at no charge which is one reason I love Warn winches.

Well I contacted Warn and due to safety reasons the brake must be replaced....and no offer to replace at no charge. Oh well. Guess I'll buy a new one.
I just don't understand when all parts are in good shape why it can't be adjusted. Lesson learned....don't touch the brake unless it is the problem!
