Went through some deep water and just checking fluids. Does this diff fluid look compromised?? I put the fluid in a hot pan and it didn't sizzle but it does look a bit murky to me. Fluid id pretty new, less than 5k miles. Just want to be sure.

Not sure how long it would take for water to seperate back out. I'd go drove again and immediately check to see if it looks milky. Or just go get some new fluid and a lube locker gasket and call it a day. $40 vs piece of mind

Looks fine to me. Water in oil will make it look muddy. I wouldn’t change that but if you just need peace of mind, change it.

I went out and ran it including in 4wd. The fluid looked identical as when it was sitting. I believe it is fine after the sizzle test and several replies here. Thanks!!!

a little bit of water getting past the seals will evaporate out of the oil. driving through a puddle briefly shouldn't be much of a concern.
