I am replacing my leaking water pump, and see that it seems like the water pump was eating the cylinder wall. Is this expected? Did you guys see anything like this?
I believe you are looking at factory machining not water pump interference.
X2, the machining into the casting appears to be the same diameter as the water pump opening and was created when block was machined. A water pump impeller is not capable of cutting like that.I believe you are looking at factory machining not water pump interference.
I believe you are looking at factory machining not water pump interference. BTW, my original factory water pump has a black anodized aluminum impeller as does the oem replacement
I believe you're correct. Now I wonder if it was machined on a Friday or a Monday.
