So the other day I was cleaning my TJ and all of a sudden there was this silent explosion and a bunch of white powder came bellowing out from somewhere behind the driver knee panel area. It was almost like the stuff that puffs out when an airbag goes off. Dust covered the dash, steering wheel, windshield, and even inside the gauge cluster. No lights came on, no electric fire smell, nothing else seems out of the ordinary. Anyone else experience this or know what the f*ck happened? I cleaned most of it off but will need to disassemble the gauge pod to get it out of there..

I'd say the back of the airbag blew open.

Does front say Takata? Lean in real close and get a look. (Don't).

I removed my passenger airbag since I have the fuses pulled. I used the space to mount a tablet on a swing arm for navigation.

Never pulled it off. I'm guessing if that's the case, there was a recall the PO missed lol will investigate deeper
