I got a '99 with the 4 angry squirrels and I'm having a weird hiccup with the battery gauge. When I turn her on before starting it show s 12 volts just like she's supposed to. After starting the engine it stays there but then drops after about 1 minute all the way to the left side of the gauge where it holds 9 volts.

When I turn off the Jeep then turn it back on the gauge will again read 12 volts and it starts just fine.

I checked the battery and test is good. Any idea what I should be looking at cuz the check gauge is lit and I like my gauge to work.

Start with a voltmeter at the battery or the alternator to see if it is the charging system or the gauge that is the issue.
