I only know half doors. This is my first Wrangler and it came with half doors and I am still running the soft uppers it came with. I can see out the windows just fine, although there are some scratches from the PO, but it doesn't affect me. I also figured out how to have the window "cracked" open a bit and also have it half open or fully open. I just have the zippers at the back instead of at the front of the door. That way I can just unzip it a little to let a tad bit of air in, or my favorite is to have it unzipped almost to the front of the door, then I tuck the window into the uppers' frame. It works perfect for letting in air but not blowing my hair all over.
Only issue that isn't the best is when it is raining and I need to go threw a drive thru. LOL I have to put a wet window inside with me or flop it out the other way and get the inside wet. Also when the windows are dewed up I don't want to wipe them or use a squeegee because I don't want to scratch them any further then what they are.
Other then that, I like my soft uppers and half doors. Although, I would love to find a set of uppers with sliders. I too missed out on a set in the classifieds when I first got my Jeep. I haven't really been looking that hard lately as my 'wants' keep changing. LOL Right now it is 'wanting' to get my winch installed. LOL
