I do dozens of tru-track and NITRO torsen type lsd's monthly. the nitro are much more affordable. the m35 does very well with a 27 spline 4340 cromo or 1540 alloy, and with a full case torsen lsd, the weak links are gone for the normal driver. YUKON gears and axles are pretty much all I sell and install. anything else is by request or supplied by the customer. even when running a 30 spline locker in the m35, we are busting the same 30 spline cromo shaft as guys are attempting to run in the 44's with 37" tires, we are not busting properly set up R&P in the m35, not even 513 gear sets.
we do not see horrible winters or months of bad driving conditions in the NW. my preference as far as lockers are concerned is a Yukon grizzly auto locker up front and a zip locker in the rear. it's very manageable on the snow and ice at speeds most people will not even do. saying it's "dangerous" just makes me laugh.... on the trail, I can turn the same as if I'm in 2wd without unlocking the front or messing around with trying to get the air or or e-locker out of it's bind so it can unlock then proceed to make my turns. I can also turn a 37" tire without hydro assist while locked due to the auto locker as if I were in 2wd. I will never recommend a selectable locker in the front axle without hydro assist.
