What do you think of this frame?

Looking to buy a jeep (still) this one is in Virginia Beach area. Its a 2001 Jeep Sport Automatic with just over 100000 miles on it for $9990.00 had 5 owners

That thing has some weird frame patches on it... idk what’s going on with that but I’d pass.

Frame does look very clean, however it looks like it may have a patch piece where the right-side rear lower control arm goes into the frame (pictures 4&6). It looks like a replacement section of the frame welded in to me.

Nice looking Jeep, but in picture #4 is that a patch that was welded to the frame ?
I would take a flash light and look inside the frame rail holes to see if there is more rust.

Definitely a patch by the lower control arm mount. If it was bad enough to require a welded in patch it was likely rotting out from the inside. There is likely more rot issues lurking inside. If you're insistent on this one, get a scope or camera to check inside the entire frame. I would pass if it were me.

Thanks for help. After looking at pictures again I think you guys are right with a patch job, so I'm looking else where
