PS5 is the best one right now. My kids have been playing Invincible (fighting game) lately.

The amount of games that are PC only due to release or age and emulating kind of outweigh the few releases that aren't on PC I think
When I had a computer for gaming I spent more time screwing with it than playing.
With the console my kids can use it.
The PS5 is also the player we use for movies which is its primary use nowadays.

Also mainly use my ps5 for movies. I did just download the fallout 4 anniversary edition though after watching the show on amazon. So I'll get some time in on one of my favorite franchises. Its been a long time
Our Internet is out this morning. So my 17yo tried to use the PS5. After taking forever to load to the main screen because of the outage, he tried playing a fighting game (Invincible) figuring he should be able to play it offline. Nope! He then tried 2 other games that theoretically should work fine offline. Nope! He gave up frustrated.
My anecdote about how games were always offline back in the 80's and 90's somehow didn't help the situation. Go figure!

I know many games have to download additional stuff when you insert the disk but some also let you play while that happens.
Some of the downloads are huge.
I don't know why there has to be this dramatic binary choice of one systems or another ... been running xbox, playstation and PC all at the same time for nearly 2 decades now... only thing which makes it all a bit pointless this generation is lack of exclusives and most major releases being cross platform.
I did switch to PC around 10+ years ago when Quake Champions came out (which was a flop). Ended up playing mostly Overwatch at that time. I used to be able to play COD on a controller. Tried again a few years ago when I wanted to play some older titles. Now I am dependent on being able to use keyboard and mouse. Some games work better on a controller. FPS do not.
Console is good for someone on a limited budget (like my kids). Compared to PC, where suggested specs increase constantly, console ports are forced to adhere to the specs, since they can't be upgraded.
i absolutely suck with a mouse and keyboard but the ps and xbox controllers have been fully pc compatible for years, even the controller on the very first xbox was a standard usb just with a goofy connector, all you had to do was splice the wires and match the colours like for like and download a driver. I started playing pc games in he gap between the original xbox and the 360, really got into battlefield 2 as the huge dedicated server sizes 32 vs 32 just wasnt possible on xbox live or psn back in those days.
PC" eco system isn't as free and open as claimed, it's only been in the last couple of years you could even play proper PC games on anything other than a Windows™ operating system, we are only recently getting to use linux without having to go through some insurmountable levels of bullshit, you have Steam Exclusives, EA, Ubisoft connect, and Microsoft all trying to tie you into proprietary launchers.
Growing up we had NES, Mario and Megaman were a couple of my favorites. Moved to the Super NES, then PS1 then PS2 when I was in high school. I was big on Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, Metal Gear solid and Syphon Filter. Got a PS3 in '09 then a couple years ago got a PS5. I just recently got the Platinum trophy and the Resident Evil 4 Remake and the new Resident Evil: Requiem. I'm currently in the process of trying to get the platinum trophy for Gran Turismo 7.
I never was very fond of gaming on PC. Most I've really done was playing Farcry on my laptop when I was in Afghanistan. Haha

Played a lot of Counterstrike on the PC in college built a few computers to keep up.
Now I have a nice computer but only use it for 3D modeling and picture/video storage.
Still have my Atari 2600, 4600, NES, Wii, Dreamcast, xbox360, PS1,2,3,4 and 5 by far I prefer the Playstations and I think it's mostly the game style I like I really enjoyed Uncharted, Assassin's Creeds, Red Deads and most of the GTA stuff but I could never get into GTA V no matter how hard I tried.
The kids have the driving simulator setup and use that the most. My daughter was playing Alaskan Road Truckers last night and she prefers it to Gran Turismo 7. It's fun to watch them play, I'm sure if I get GTA VI I'll try it but I don't think I could sit down and play all the way through it.

There's definitely a learning curve. Though I don't know of anyone that has gotten used to it and wanted to go back to a controller. Only those, like yourself, that don't want to switch. Figure aiming is much more precise with a mouse.
