What have I gotten myself into?

So I spent a few weeks roaming through FB marketplace until I found a rig that needed a bit of work but was within my budget.
Wait. What? This is what is considered needing a bit of work

And you actually drove it in the condition it is in?
I am struggling for words that are encouraging, but I am at a loss. Even by rust belt north east standards, this is one to walk away from. Barely even a parts car. Not being a dick when I say any of this.. just can't imagine actually paying for it.. no less driving it home.

I had to google Mud dauber... Yikes.

Okay.. with that out of my system...
Have at it!! REALLY looking forward to following the rehab. Please update often!!
Good luck!

Same PO?

You paid for this with real American dollars?

Oh if I could print all the money I wanted and get away with it, this would not have been the Jeep I bought!

I mean... it could be... Although that one has a decent looking hard top, and a spare tire carrier with third brake light. Looks to be the stock wheels too. But I don't quite think that's a great price for it. Yeah, don't think it's the same PO. BUT he may have painted it for him as a favor!!

Well, I guess it's time I came clean. The real reason I bought this thing is because of the super duper cool grill cover on the front. Makes the Jeep look angry. I mean, with that, how could I pass it up???View attachment 532924

It’s probably angry from all the random overspray on it. 😄

....how could I pass it up???
Put your hands back in your pockets. Turn 180 degrees and walk away.

Look.. you gotta do you. I just don't get the appeal of these grills and all that other useless Hook Road, EAV stuff. At least it only covers a sliver of the headlights. Never understood why anyone would put anything blocking the headlight output.

🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

did that back in 99 with the sport bike. has some stickers that would make the headlights look like a race bike.

“only reduces light output by 20%”

ended up not realizing i was in a turn lane and did a stoppie into a ditch. the stickers were taken off that night. stupid 20 year old me.

stoppie being a braking maneuver that gets the rear tire air borne, opposite of a wheelie,
