What is a TJ?

And the exact same is true for any mods, questionable or otherwise you decide to make to your TJ. Your rig, your choices, you can have it however you like and I want the exact same freedom to do the same.

Two terms come to mind.

1. Judge not, lest ye be judged.
2. Live and let live.

Both very admirable philosophies. I do my best to remind myself daily that this is the way I want to conduct my life. Unfortunately, I fail at times. Especially when my smartass sense of humor gets the better of me on forums. 😁

so this may sound quite dumb but I have a 2005 wrangler x, is this considered a tj? i’ve been fixing it because the previous owner let it rot and all the forums i see call it a tj. i really have no clue what a tj is so please someone help clarify
🙏🙏

The last real jeep ever made is what it is!

I was going to post this right before the thread got locked, so now that it’s open and revived:

People raise pitchforks against the angry grille not wholly because they find the piece of plastic so offensive in itself, but because it is the premier insignia of the crowd and culture who want so badly to appear as an offroad badass without the slightest inclination of leaving pavement. It’s the same crowd with tacky RGB lighting, obnoxious decals, cheesy hood-side names, ostentatious wheels with thin tires, lights before lockers, a dash full o’ ducks… it’s form-over-function attention-seeking behavior and wanting to be seen as “in with the cool kids”. It all just boils down to hypocrisy which is the repulsive part of it all for those who actually enjoy the open-air driving, outdoor exploration, off-road driving, and adventure that Jeeps are designed for.

You left out skeletons on the hood. lol. Actually it's only on the hood every Oct 31st otherwise there is no gimmicky mall crawler jeep culture crap on my TJR. I dare to be square.

agreed, Jeeps are happy fun loving creatures, trying to make them look mean is like chopping the tail off a dog.

See if you can guess why I put a chrome grill on my rig?

I see what point you’re making by playing devil’s advocate here, but I’m not calling for outlawing angry grilles or controlling what other people do. I simply just don’t associate with the crowd I described above and will not hesitate to judge or poke fun at them. By all means, people have the right to do whatever they want to their Jeeps, including the angry grille (etc.), but demanding affirmation and that others can’t have an opinion or make jokes about their angry grille (etc.) is not something they can do to “defend” their angry grille (etc.).
