What’s this wire? Appears not to be connected to anything currently...

(2001 60th anniversary, UK spec)

I scrolled through the WD & the only thing that looks similar to that connector in the engine bay is the 2.5L power steering pressure switch, but the manual labels it as black, not green. I seem to recall someone else had this same thing...

That plug seems to be the exact shape of the pressure switch on the refrigerant accumulator on my '98, though my plug is black.

Confirmed: accumulator refrigerant pressure switch. It used to be black, and maybe it still is.

It’s definitely green, but that could be a UK thing. Anyway, good to know it’s not supposed to be connected to anything...

now to work out why the rear fog lamp doesn't work. Suspect the multifunction switch.

Well it sure as hell looks like this, but the color is wrong & so are the wires:

There are some others that are similar, but the colors are wrong too. This is out of the '00/'01 manual, section 8w:

I don't know what the hell that goofy UK plug is.

Let us know what you find. Will that fog cause you to fail the MOT?
