What is this?

Was probing around the engine bay and found this.

I moved a bit it and it let out a "hiss". It doesn't seem factory as its zip tied to the bar.

It's attached to a hose that goes into what I think is the break booster. Has a positive and negative going to it.

Where does it connect at the fire wall and where is it going to in the front?

Thanks. It is a compressor.

Turns our it's part of the breaking system if it gets detached from the towing rig. Theres a plug in the front bumper. If I remove the plug the compressor turns on.
