I plan on upgrading my stock 30" tires on my lj to 33's on new wheels. In addition to the tires and wheels, I also plan to add a 3.5 inches of lift. My question is should I go with 15 or 17 inch wheels. This is my daily driver and I don't plan on taking it out on the trails much, so I'm not worried about which is better for off roading. Any pictures of the two would help, as well as advice on wheels

15, but make sure you don't go too wide.

x2. Tires for 15s are substantially cheaper and in my opinion look much better on a tj. If you like the look of 17s though you should go for it.

Do you like the 10.5 width better than the 12.5 for on road use?
Yes, they are Dick Cepek Extreme County. Have 33/12.5/15 on some of my Scramblers. When those need replacing, will go to 10.5’s .

Wish someone made 35/10.5/15 or 17’ in load range C.

In my view 15” are better for 33s. If you want a softer ride then you will have more side wall on 15” rims. The larger the rim the less sidewall and harder the ride will be.
I see these guys on fashion cars they have these giant wheels with skinny little sidewalls, which means no soft right at all ,it’s like riding without shocks.

Here is mine w/17" wheels and 33s, and 15" w/33s . Like look of 17" wheels, but 15" w/33" C rated tires work much better for off road.
