Purchased 05 X recently and it came with a body lift. I can see 1.5” spacers upfront but the rear I can’t quite measure but assuming it’s the same. It also has 15x8 wheels with 31x10.5 tires with about 3.5 backspacing since the wheels are pushed out a good bit.

I guess I’m kind of an oddball because I’d actually like to take this back to stock some and remove the body lift and move the tires back in a little bit and maybe a bit smaller tires.

What’s a good wheel size / tire size combo with stock height but slightly larger tires than stock?

what’s the largest tire I can put on 15x7?
whats the smallest tire I can put on a 15x8?
etc.

The body lift could be on top of the original mounts. That is what the savvy 1.25" aluminum pucks I just installed did. You will want to take a look at your motor mount to see if they installed a spacer or replaced with a 1" lift.

I'm pretty sure 30" tires will fit under a stock setup just fine unless you are doing pretty intense offroading. And a good A/T tire would allow comfortable on to medium off road traction. I'm a fan of the Cooper brand of tires. They run quiet, balance easy and last with a good warentee. Most all good name brands offers a decent A/T these days.

On a factory wheel that is 15x7 or 15x8 with 5.5" of backspacing you can fit 31" tires without any issues. Some people have minor rubbing at full steering lock but that's it. It's just a little noise and wont cause any damage. I've run 31" tires for more than half the 140,000+ miles I have on my Jeep on and off road without issues. 30" tires are stock on many Jeeps like @kmq102 says, that's what mine had from the factory as well. Personally I'd find a set of factory wheels you like and just swap over the tires you already have.

I don’t think I see a spacer or a raised motor mount.
