When did you replace your oil pump?

Hi everyone.
I'm new to owning an LJ, but have owned many jeeps in the past (Willies Wagon, Commando, Scrambler, YJ).
I've been reading about the OPDA issues in the '05-'06 Wranglers, and have ordered a crown replacement.
My 2006 has 92k miles.
It's time for an oil change, and I need to install a new pan gasket . . . so my question is, while I'm in there, should I go ahead and replace the oil pump?
How long do they typically last in this application? When did you need to install a replacement (years/mileage)? AND, is there a preferred brand?

Never replaced one. 300k on the YJ, 255k on the TJ.

If you want to know what your oil pressure actually is, you will need to get a test gauge as the dash gauge is useless.

I don’t believe the oil pump is a replacement product until 200k miles from what I’be read.

Your call to do it, I wouldn’t under 100k, but that’s me.

I replaced my OPDA with the Crown, that you should do no doubt on the 05/06

To me putting in a new pump is something you do when rebuilding the engine. So if you're going to put a new pump on you might as well rebuild the motor while you're at it. Just in case.

I tend to do them when I'm in doing a rear main seal or oil pan, if the engine is somewhere around 150K or more. Reason being, a Melling pump is cheap and it only takes a few minutes to install when you're that far in. That said, at your mileage I'd just leave it alone, unless there is a real reason to replace it. However, I'd check the oil pickup for any debris and clean it if needed.

I did mine when changing the oil pressure sender didn't fix the "falling to 0" issue. I had about 190k on the clock, no clue if had been done prior to me doing it. Never had an oil pressure problem (gauge or actual) since.
