Where do I support the transfer case in order to remove the skid plate?

Trying to remove muffler and can't get to the clamp that connects muffler to front pipe. WHERE do I support the transfer case in order to remove the skid plate specifically a 1999 auto. The only thing not covered by the plate is the trans pan and the rear drive shaft. Thanks

Span a 2x4 across the pan so you don’t dent it

Use jack stands and piece of plywood that is a minimum of 1/2" thick and is larger than the width of the transmission pan to distribute the weight; so the pan is not dented as posted above.

Thanks all. I just nuked the hell out of it and second guessed myself. I finally got it.

I made a couple hooks out of threaded rod and used a piece of 1 1/2” square tubing. I could then still use my jack and keep the trans supported.
