Thinking of picking up a rear Dana 44 with drum brakes but the drum brakes are missing. What vehicles at junkyard has disc that I could swap on ? Or if someone can send me a thread where this has already been talked about ?

I believe the ZJ and WJ Grand Cherokee disc brakes work. That would be 1993-2004 models.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Aren't those 5x5 hub patterns?

Would you just need the tj specifec rear discs then?

Other than easier brake replacement, is there a benefit to a rear disc conversion? I thought our TJs are front braking for the most part? I ended up just having the shop take the drums from my 35 and install it on the 44 for sake of cost savings mainly

No I have a Dana 44 no cutting grinding. Just bolt on

I definitely overlooked a more creative method of hooking up hard lines. But, there is something a bit off. The Set 10 bearing and seal won't fit through the hole in the middle of the ZJ backing plate. If you look at the brake pads, there is enough room for the abutment clips at the ends of the pads which likely points to them being off of a TJ or Liberty.

IDK. I removed them myself from a 1995 grand Cherokee. In a upull it yard. Maybe they were modified before I removed them

They likely swapped on the other backing plates and kept the calipers and brake pads. You need to install the abutment clips though. If you go to Stu Offroad and look up the disc brake conversion I did on his about 15 or 16 years ago, it shows what has to be done.
