I'm looking at the end of February to retire and looking for others with flexible calendars. I hope to spend 3 months give or take a month out west.

If I can EVER get this damn Jeep driving I do plan on traveling and going wheeling other people. That was the whole point of my buying this motorhome.

Hope to hook up with ya at some point.

@Bobohunter1776 I was thinking mid August into September for CO.

@bucky @NskLJ @DaveC When does it start getting too hot to have fun in your area?

@Wildman Would be fun

If you can make it up to the PNW there are trails worth doing.

My goal is to leave here in Sept or Oct when the weather is starting to get bad and travel to other parts of the country. Then come home in May or June to play on trails around here. Of course if there are trails to hit during the summer my plans can always change.

I've been retired since 2006 but I had a daughter to raise. She's 21 now so it's time for dad to play.

PNW is on my list.

Once you start getting a plan together just let us know. The better trails here don't open up until 1 April and many of the trails aren't accessible until mid to late June and sometimes into July before the snow is clear enough.

And how hard of trials are you interested in? 1-10 scale?

October thru April is guaranteed great here in AZ. If we're lucky, it may cool down in mid September and stay cool thru May.

I hope to snowbird in the southern states and hit a lot of these trails I keep hearing about. Will be mobile and flexible schedule.

June through September are the hottest months too hot for the desert reasons. There is still the local mountains but it can be quite warm up there also.

My wife and I are both retired and both like to wheel! We have a 04 LJ and a 11 jk, we trailer the LJ when we go on out of state trips. We really like going out to AZ Feb/Mar, CO late Aug, and Moab early Nov. We have some good stuff in Texas but nothing public you gotta go to one of the 4x parks and pay a fee.

I have experienced some pretty hot places. I had to replace a ujoint in Baker CA in late July. Looking at the "world's biggest thermometer" at 117 degrees was a little demoralizing. Of course the auto parts store sold me the wrong ujoint and had to make a second trip to get the correct one.
